Common scams and how seniors can protect themselves from financial fraud will be the subject of a workshop Thursday at 1 p.m. at Evanston’s Levy Senior Center, held under the auspices of state Rep. Robyn Gabel.
It’s the first of a series of workshops the Evanston-based legislator plans to hold this year, she said.
At Thursday’s workshop, a representative from the Cook County Police Dept. will offer tips for protecting seniors’ financial assets.
Rep. Gabel says that even though the workshop will focus on seniors, it is open to anyone, including caretakers for seniors and persons with elderly parents.
The Levy Senior Center is located at 300 Dodge Ave.
