The developers of an approved senior housing building on Ridge Avenue will seek city approval today to make the planned building shorter.

Michael McLean of Condor Partners LLC says the revised design will reduce the height of the building at 1815 Ridge Ave. from 10 to nine stories.

The plan also increases the height of the northernmost section of the building, which had been just four stories, to seven stories.

The new plans, going before the Design and Project Review Committee this afternoon, keep the same unit count — 163 — for the building.

But they shift the unit mix from the originally approved plans for 33 independent living, 69 assisted living and 61 memory care units to 41 independent living, 88 assisted living and 34 memory care units.

The development, which has also been promoted with the address of 1815 Oak Ave., was approved by the City Council in July 2016.

The new designs call for a building 105 feet tall, compared to a height of 117 feet for the prevous deisgn.

A staff zoning analysis of the changes indicates they are compliant with the city’s zoning code.

Update 5/9/19: The DAPR hearing on the revisions to the plans was postponed Wednesday at the developer’s request.
