Senior Leadership Evanston, a dynamic program designed for local citizens who are retired or transitioning to retirement, seeks participants for its fourth spring session.  Enrollment is still open.

Senior Leadership Evanston offers residents a unique opportunity to learn more broadly about Evanston and to find meaningful ways to build on their life experiences and get more involved in the community.

Senior Leadership Evanston begins April 30 and runs for 10 weeks in weekly Wednesday sessions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The program meets in locations throughout Evanston.  Participants meet with over 30 community leaders to gain deeper knowledge of Evanston and discover what roles they can play in its community life.

With sponsorship from Three Crowns Park, the independent Evanston not-for-profit senior community, Senior Leadership Evanston is able to keep tuition at $350 and to offer scholarships to those who may need financial assistance in order to participate.  Tuition includes programming and lunch for each session.

Participants in earlier Senior Leadership Evanston classes have found the program enlightening and engaging.  Graduates have connected to new opportunities in Evanston, from community activism and advocacy to tutoring to serving on nonprofit and city boards.

Evanston residents who are interested in participating in Senior Leadership Evanston should contact Jane Grover, Assistant Director of Leadership Evanston.  She can be reached at Leadership Evanston, Evanston Community Foundation, 1007 Church, Suite 108, Evanston 60201, 847-492-0992, grover@evanstonforever.org.  You can also download an application for Senior Leadership Evanston from the foundation’s website
