Evanston Police say a joint operation with Chicago police units has led to the arrest of seven men on drug charges this week.

The investigation reportedly began two months ago and involved officers making undercover narcotics buys along the Howard Street corridor that divides Evanston from Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.

Officers say a Chicago police helicopter was used to help provide surveillance during the investigation.

Police identified those arrested as Quentin Irby, Joseph Wilfred, Shawn Daniels and Yarodin Parker of Evanston and Phillip Robinson, Kevin Ward and Christopher Ferguson of Chicago. Police said age and address information for those arrested was not available.

Two other suspects reportedly are still being sought in connection with the investigation.
