The National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms with wind gust over 60 miles an hour, lightning and hail up to golf ball sizes are expected to roll through Evanston this evening.

The storms, heading our way southeast from Wisconsin, appear most likely to hit around 9 p.m.

The storms are expected to end by midnight and may be more intense than the one that hit parts of Evanston this afternoon and left about 1,500 people without power..
