Work to replace the CTA Purple Line viaduct at Dempster Street in Evanston will resume Monday with the closing of Sherman Place.

The road that runs in front of the Dempster CTA stop between Dempster and Greenwood Streets will become a staging area for construction of the new viaduct.

Access for residents and drive-through bank customers will be maintained.

The closure will continue until the new bridge is rolled into place, which is scheduled to happen on the weekend of June 22-24.

More information on the CTA construction project is available online.
