Evanston Police report a man was shot in the 1900 block of Dempster Street Thursday afternoon.
The incident reportedly happened around 4 p.m. The victim left the scene in a vehicle but then stopped in the 1100 block of Lake Street where he was treated by Evanston Fire Department paramedics and transported in stable condition to a hospital.
Police say the gunman has fled the area. Businesses in the area remain open and streets are not blocked, but there is a large police presence.
What happened to making Evanston a place where people want to shop and live with restaurants and viable businesses instead of a city of panhandlers and pot shops?
Where is the vision that made this a once great city?
The city does not have an actual plan to develop an actual friendly and enticing shopping atmosphere.
1. PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE.
2. Rent and taxes are too high
3. There are no attractive stores affordable to the permanent/long time residents.
And now proposing nudity throughout the city? What next? Legalized prostitution?
