Evanston police say they’ve called in the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force to help investigate a shooting incident on Florence Avenue last month that led to the victim’s death over the weekend.

Javor Brooks of Chicago was shot early in the evening of Feb. 19 in the walkway between 1124 and 1126 Florence Ave.

Brooks was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he died Sunday morning. The Cook County Medical Examiners office ruled his death a homicide this morning.

Police say they have no suspects in custody.
