A 46-year-old woman was shot in the leg by someone in a passing car while walking her dog at about 9:07 p.m. yesterday near her home in the 700 block of Sherman Avenue. She was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Assault

1570 Oak

Erick M. Anderson, 30, of 1570 Oak Ave., was arrested at that address at 4:33 a.m. today and charged with assault. He is due in court on Dec. 18 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

100 Ridge

Cash was taken by a burglar who broke a window to enter an apartment in the 100 block of Ridge Avenue around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

1100 Pitner

Front and rear windshields of a 2003 Nissan were found shattered in the 1100 block of Pitner Avenue at 6:07 p.m. yesterday

Theft

1100 Chicago

Miscellaneous merchandise was taken from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 10:23 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Sherman

Hygeine products were stolen from a pharmacy in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue around 8:23 a.m. yesterday.

100 Asbury

Food items were taken from the CVS Pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue at 6:57 p.m. yesterday.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
