A shuttle van for the Hilton Orrington hotel ran into one of the columns supporting the porte cochere at the hotel entrance today.

Details on how the accident occurred weren’t immediately available, and police were still on the scene shortly before 2 p.m.

Update 3:09 p.m.: Police Cmdr. Ryan Glew says there were no injuries in the incident.

Update 3:38 p.m.: Glew says the driver of the van, a 53-year-old Chicago man, told officers he was heading northbound on Orrington when he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

The van struck two parked vehicles before ramming the support column.

One of the two parked cars was occupied, the other was empty.
