Evanston health officials reported six new COVID-19 cases today raising the city’s total to 760 and four more deaths increasing the death toll here from the pandemic to 66.

Chicago reported 173 new cases for a total of 49,776 and 28 more deaths for a total of 2,427 lives lost.

Statewide there were 623 new cases for a total of 133,639 and 72 additional deaths for a total of 6,398.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported results of 18,729 additional tests for the disease today with a positive rate of 3.33%, that’s slightly higher than the seven-day average positive rate of 3.0%

The IDPH reported results of 89 more COVID-19 tests in Evanston and found four new cases, for a positive rate of 4.5%

All four regions of the state remain on track with the disease control metrics established to move to the next phase of the Reopen Illinois plan late this month.
