Skateboarder collides with car at Ridge and Crain

Update 3:45 p.m.: Evanston police say a 19-year-old Evanston man on a skateboard was struck by a car near the intersection of Ridge Avenue and Crain Street about 1:30 this afternoon.

Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says the car, driven by a 50-year-old Evanston man, was traveling south on Ridge when the skateboarder, heading eastbound on Crain, cut across the traffic lane and was hit.

The victim, who suffered what are considered non-life-threatening injuries to his head and legs, was transported to St. Francis Hospital.

Dugan says no citations have been issued as yet in the accident.
