A man reported to be sleeping in the rear of a business in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue was found to be dead by Evanston police officers this morning.

The police answered the call just before 10 a.m., and the officers called Fire Department paramedics when they were unable to wake the 48-year-old Evanston man.

Detectives investigating the incident found no signs of foul play, according to Cmdr. Joseph Dugan.

The deceased was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office for further examination, Dugan said.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
