‘Snoozefest’ to aid ETHS musicians

If you think you’ve seen everything in fundraising schemes in Evanston, take a look at this one: A snoozefest, sponsored by the Music Department at Evanston Township High School.

The event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Bacon Cafeteria at ETHS.

The product is mattresses, which organizers contend is something that everyone needs and statistics show that about 10 percent of mattresses are replaced each year.

All mattresses are brand new and covered by full factory warranties and are discounted up to 30-60 percent below prices in retail stores.

The objective is to raise several thousand dollars in just seven hours, with proceeds designated to help ETHS music students.
