Weather forecasters say that after a warm day Tuesday we are likely to see several more inches of snow in Evanston before the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the period from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The weather service says snowfall amounts could be as much as five inches to the south of us in Chicago.

The private forecast service for the City of Evanston thinks we’re most likely to get three to four inches — with the storm starting as a rain and snow mix .

Then on Thursday morning we can expect another wave of snow adding another inch or so of accumulation followed by some lake effect snow overnight into early Friday that could add another half inch or more.
