Evanston got a little lake effect snow this morning — estimated by city officials at around a quarter inch on the north side of town to as much as a half inch to the south.

The National Weather Services says the lake effect snowfall could total as much as two inches in some other parts of the metro area.

Public Works crews are out salting roads as need across town.

Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says that with the sun now shining, even with the cold temperatures, “most of this dusting of snow is expected to melt.”

The weather service says we could get up to an inch more snow Monday night, but that we’ll have temperatures in the mid 40s and rain by Thursday.
