District 65 School Board President Keith Terry says two snow days that closed the District 65 headquarters last week led to the cancellation of Monday’s school board meeting.

District 65 School Board President Keith Terry says two snow days that closed the District 65 headquarters last week led to the cancellation of Monday’s school board meeting.

After Thursday night’s candidates forum at Haven Middle School, Terry said he cancelled the meeting last Friday because administration personnel were unable to prepare the information given to board members in advance of the meeting, due to the snow-day closings.

He said he was unaware that the cancellation announcement had not been posted on the district’s website and said “we should have done that.”

The board’s Finance Committee is scheduled to meet on Monday, Feb. 14, and the “regular” board meeting will be held on Feb. 22, the day after the Presidents Day holiday.

The board typically meets twice a month. On the first Monday of the month is a “working” board meeting, reserved for discussion of  issues. The third Monday is the “regular” board meeting, when official votes may be taken.  Both dates are subject to change, usually because of school holidays.

The Feb. 7 meeting was to have included a discussion of the conflicting test data pertaining to college and career readiness programs of the district, as requested by member Tracy Quattrocki two weeks earlier.
