Evanston city crews are scheduled to work through the night cleaning up after today’s storm that dropped 3.8 inches of snow as measured at the municipal service center.
Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says crews worked on main and side streets today and will continue that pattern this evening.
A snow route parking ban will go into effect at 11 tonight and will be in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday and crews will focus then on main streets and parking areas along snow routes.
The during the day Sunday, Maiworm says, crews will patrol residential streets looking for areas where parked cars have moved so they can plow back areas that are open.
Odd/Even
The City never should have cancelled the odd/even parking over the weekend. The City crew doesn't do a very good job of getting into spaces where cars have moved given the size of the equipment. There are too few spaces going around as it is; can't wait for the next storm.
Snow Clean Up
It's Monday February 3rd approx 5 PM. Snow crews still haven't cleaned streets South Of main. Check Elmwood,Monroe,Madison, Reba, South, Seward for a few.
Yes, I noticed the same
Yes, I noticed the same. I hope with upcoming snow Evanston maintains the even/odd and plows these streets. Also potholes on South Main St, are huge, especially those under the Main Street Metra tracks near Chicago Ave/Main St.
