More snow is expected this evening in Evanston and city officials say they will continue with snow emergency parking bans during the day Friday.
But Public Works Director David Jennings says he doesn’t expect to have to ban parking on major snow routes tonight, despite the expected two to four inches of new snow. Those major routes were plowed overnight from Wednesday into today.
Crews during the day today cleared snow from the even-numbered sides of streets — that’s the west and south sides..
They’ll tackle the odd-numbered sides, the north and east sides, on Friday. The no-parking rules apply from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and cars left in the way of the plows will be ticketed or towed. Signs are posted on streets affected by the rules.
