Evanston got only about a quarter inch of sleet, freezing rain and snow overnight — considerably short of the one to three inches that had been forecast. But we could get a bit more today.
James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency says light snow or flurries are expected through the day with a chance of up to a half inch of new snow falling — before the snow ends late in the afternoon.
Maiworm says Public Works crews are on standby today and will begin operations should conditions require.
