The National Weather Service says we can expect a mix of snow and ice to fall on Evanston between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Edgar Cano of Evanston’s Public Works Agency says the storm is expected to start as light snow and then turn to a mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet by mid-morning and ending as drizzle and mist by late afternoon.

Cano says we can expect one to two inches of snow and less than a half inch of the icy mix.

Cano says streets have not been pre-treated today because they’ve still got a residual coating from what was spread for Monday’s storm. He says the regularly scheduled night crew will be monitoring conditions and taking steps to respond to the storm as needed.

The Weather Service says residents should anticipate slippery road conditions that are likely to impact the Wednesday morning commute.
