City officials say some parts of Evanston got more than 10 inches of lake-effect snow Friday morning — so we’ll have snow parking restrictions all weekend.

Update 10:30 a.m. 1/29/22: The city now has canceled the snow route parking ban for Saturday night.

The snow route parking ban will be in effect on Friday and Saturday nights. Parking will be prohibited on main roads posted as snow routes from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday and again from 11 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday.

Snow emergency parking restrictions will be in effect during the day Saturday and Sunday on streets not posted as snow routes that have parking on both sides,

Parking will be banned on the side with odd-numbered addresses on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on the side with even-numbered addresses during the same hours on Sunday.

Free parking will be available in the Maple Avenue garage downtown and in a number of surface lots. A list of those locations is available online.
