snow-plow

Evanston will ban parking on snow routes Saturday night and impose alternate-side parking restrictions on side streets Sunday and Monday because of the heavy snow expected this weekend.

The restrictions on posted snow routes will be in effect from 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

The daytime restrictions on residential streets will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday. Residents should park on the odd side of the street Sunday and the even side on Monday.

To reduce the number of cars on the street free parking will be available in the city’s three downtown garages from now through 11:59 p.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service is predicting that we’ll get one to three inches of snow overnight tonight and another four to eight inches of snow during the day Saturday.
