To deal with our latest snow storm, Evanston officials have issued a snow route parking ban for tonight and Thursday.
That means parking will be banned on main roads posted with snow route signs from 11 p.m. tonight to 6 p.m. Thursday and again from 11 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.
Public Works Director Suzette Robinson says the city will also impose snow emergency alternate side parking restrictions on residential streets from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
SE Evanston plow
I hope the parking restrictions going into effect tonight, February 5, mean that the City will be plowing southeast Evanston. Most of the streets have not been plowed curb to curb. I know this because there is a car in front of my house in the 700 block of Judson that hasn't moved in almost 4 weeks. It has 8 inches of snow on the roof and is buried almost to the top of the hood by snow.

Call 311 to report the unmoved vehicle. EPD will investigate it as an abandoned vehicle.
