Snow showers moved into Evanston this morning and are expected to continue off-and-on through Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service says the strongest showers are reducing visibility to a half mile or less.
With temperatures above freezing, the weather service says main roads are likely to just be wet, but that a coating of snow is likely on less-traveled roads.
Edgar Cano of the city’s Public Works Agency says crews are monitoring forecasts and conditions through the storm, which is expected to deliver less than an inch of snow overall.
