That snow storm that was expected to drop a couple inches on Evanston early today went south — literally and figuratively — and now we’re expected to get no more than half an inch.

Snow started around 7 a.m. here and is expected to diminish to flurries by noon, says Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm.

He says a public works crew is on standby ready to treat the roads as needed.
