The Evanston Wildkits were in control throughout the game Monday in a CSL crossover girls soccer contest with the Niles North Viking.

It took about 25 minutes for the Kits to break through a very composed and organized  Niles North defense. The goal came in then from a free kick outside the box taken by sophomore Alex Berkley.

Six minutes later it was another sophomore, Nora Mertz, who capitalized on a pass from Maureen Kerr and with a right-footed shot from the top of the box brought the Evanston team up 2-0.

Heavy snow in the second half forced both team to slow down the pace in favor of more accurate ball control. The Kits maintained possession of the ball for the vast majority of the second half and managed to score the third goal with freshman Maia Cella.
