The Wildkits girls soccer team scored win number 11 of the season Tuesday,defeating the Maine South Hawks 1-0 in a game valid for the CSL conference division.
The Kits, 11-3-0 (1-0) on the season, got off to a strong start after kick off and got close to scoring at minute 6 when Alex Berkley assisted by Maureen Kerr saw her shot denied by the post and in several other occasions throughout the first half.
Despite some good soccer displayed by both teams, the result at the 40min mark was still 0-0.
The second half kicked off just as the first ended, with the Kits applying a lot of pressure in search for a goal, which did arrive at the 65th minute when freshman Maia Cella broke free of marking and assisted by Maureen Kerr scored after finding her self one-on-one with the goals.
Despite taking the lead, the Kits continued to apply pressure and got close to capitalizing on four other occasions, all denied by a superlative Hawks goalie.
