Socialists convene in Evanston

About 90 people turned out for the three-day Democratic Socialsts of America convention, wrapping up today at the Best Western University Plaza Hotel in Evanston.

The Chicago Tribune reports that for the conventioneers, being a socialist means remaining faithful to a dream deferred.

The group’s leadership claims that false charges by critics that President Obama is a socialist have given the party more publicity this year than its had in the previous dozen years.
