Some polling places in Evanston for next Tuesday’s presidential primary have been moved in an effort to reduce exposure of senior citizens to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Two 6th Ward precincts — the 4th and 6th — whose voters had been scheduled to cast votes at Westminster Place will now be voting at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3637 Golf Road, instead.

And voters in the 6th Ward’s Precinct 7, who have voted at Three Crowns Park in the past, will be casting ballots at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.

In the 1st Ward, voters in Precinct 4, who usually vote at The Merion, will be casting their ballots Tuesday at Alice Millar Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Road.

There could be other changes in precinct locations, and you can check where you’re scheduled to vote on an updated list at the County Clerk’s website.

  1. Precinct 4, Ward 1, voting at Alice Millar …

Because of the change of voting venue, many of us will now have to drive to our polling place.  Will the police be tolerant of parking nearby?  We may have to park in places that are ordinarily illegal.

    1. Parking

Alice Millar Chapel is one block from the city’s Church Street parking garage. And you could park there for free, assuming your trip to the polls doesn’t take longer than an hour.
