While hundreds of Special Olympics athletes were competing on the playing fields at Evanston Township High School Sunday … another team was assembled inside to prepare lunch for the competitors.
Members of the ETHS Women’s Soccer Team and the Kiwanis Club of Evanston put together an estimated 600 sandwiches in assembly-line fashion to feed the appetites of the hungry athletes.
They were one of many teams of volunteers on hand to help with the annual event.
