The Evanston History Center gets into the Halloween spirit with “An Evening of Classic (Spooky) Radio” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Charles Gates Dawes House, 225 Greenwood St. in Evanston.

The Evanston History Center gets into the Halloween spirit with “An Evening of Classic (Spooky) Radio” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Charles Gates Dawes House, 225 Greenwood St. in Evanston.

On the night of the new moon join radio historian Steve Darnall, host of “Those Were the Days” on WDCB-FM, for an evening of spooky sounds and stories from and about the Golden Age of Radio, when creaking doors and Martian invasions thrilled and terrified the nation.

Tickets, payable at the door, are $15 adults, $10 EHC members, and $5 for kids 12 and under.
