Presence St. Francis Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services System will be recognized tonight with an Evanston City Council proclamation for providing 40 years of emergency medical services.
The hospital also provides oversight and training for all of the City of Evanston’s life safety personnel.
Since 1974, the hospital’s Emergency Medical Services System has provided emergency medical services, plus pre-hospital education such as emergency medical technician and paramedic training, as well as continuing education for EMTs and paramedics.
It is the third oldest EMS system in Illinois, and one of four EMS systems incorporated in Illinois Department of Health Region X, providing medical oversight for more than 800 life safety personnel from seven surrounding communities and two private ambulance companies.
Presence St. Francis Hospital
Presence St. Francis Hospital is my choice as one of the two finest hospitals in the Chicago area and the other one is not in Evanston. You will not get better care in any hospital or emergency room. A lot of the reason is the staff at St, Francis. They really show that they care and arenot going through the motions. In most hospitals, the staff is just puts in their time.
The other hospital is Northshore Glenbrook. It is to bad the rest of Northshore can not follow their example. Evanston would have two great hospitals.
Nice going St. Francis!
Thank you, St. Francis
I have been the patient of a physician from St. Francis for 23 years. During this course of time, I have had very rare occasions ( thankfully) to visit the ER. On one occasion, it lead to a hospital stay. I experienced care, concern and felt like more than a number on each occasion. Glad St. Francis is in my community.
