Gov. J.B. Pritzker today released Phase 4 reopening guidelines, as part of the Restore Illinois plan. Evanston and the rest of the state are on track to move into that next phase on Friday.
Phase 4 allows for the reopening or expansion of several industries, including health and fitness, movies and theaters, museums, zoos and indoor dining at restaurants.
The guidelines include five new industry categories and updated recommendations, as well as a common set of guidelines that are expected and encouraged among all employers and activity types.
Evanston Health and Human Services Department staff are reviewing the guidelines and will announce any additional local requirements by Wednesday.
The city plans a virtual meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday to review the city’s guidelines for busnesses. Join the session with Google Meet or by phone at 617-675-4444 with PIN: 960 882 169 8463#.
The state expects the new reopening guidelines will let about 400,000 more Illinois residents go back to work.
