State health officials reported 14 new COVID-19 cases today, compared to seven yesterday.
The daily COVID-19 update from the City of Evanston had not been issued as of 4 p.m. this afternoon.
Statewide there were 2,092 new cases today, compared to 2,598 yesterday, for a new total of 1,160,523.
The Illinois Department of Public Health today reported that 79,704 people were vaccinated yesterday, compared to 95,375 the day before.
A total of 1,724,186 vaccine doses had been administered as of yesterday, about 67% of the total 2,570,575 doses distributed to the state by the federal government. The IDPH says 3.13% of the state’s population is now fully vaccinated.
Illinois reported 53 COVID-19 deaths today, compared to 32 yesterday, for a new total of 19,926.
The state reported 85,010 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 103,009 yesterday.
The IDPH reported tests of 1,691 Evanston residents today, compared to 3,902 yesterday. The IDPH found 14 positive cases here for a daily positive rate of 0.8%.
The state now says Evanston has had a total of 3,895 cases. The city’s case count as of yesterday was 3,739.
Chicago reported 392 new COVID-19 cases today for a total of 240,417 and one more death for a total of 4,769.
Suburban Cook County reported 376 new cases today for a total of 224,924 and five more deaths for a total of 4,351.
The IDPH reported that the deaths in Cook County two women and one man in their 70s, one man in his 80s and one woman and one man in their 90s.
As of last night, 1,892 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 425 patients were in the ICU and 202 of those were on ventilators.
