The thief who stole a package delivered to a home in the 2500 block of Jackson Avenue may have been surprised to find that its contents were Starbucks coffee beans. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.


1700 Sherman

Janeiro Green, 61, of 2121 Dewey Ave., was arrested at 1700 Sherman Ave. at 9:55 a.m. yesterday and charged with assault. He is due in court on Feb. 27 at 10:30 a.m.


1000 Grove

A purse left unattended at the McGaw YMCA was stolen around 7 p.m. yesterday.

2500 Jackson

Thieves stole a package delivered to a home in the 2500 block of Jackson Avenue between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. yesterday. The package contained Starbucks coffee.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
