Storm has Evanston in its grip

This week’s widely anticipated blizzard blew into Evanston about mid-afternoon.

Traffic was very light and slow-moving downtown as many workers headed home early.

This week’s widely anticipated blizzard blew into Evanston about mid-afternoon.

Traffic was very light and slow-moving downtown as many workers headed home early.

On Maple Avenue some residents were taking advantage of the city’s offer of free parking in the city’s three downtown garages through Friday to get their cars off the street and out of the way of snow plows.

High winds made driving difficult as well on Ridge Avenue near Howard Street, where cars crawled along — as they did in most of the rest of the city.
