The storm that was expected to drop two to three inches of snow on Evanston just in time for this morning’s rush hour under-delivered … providing six-tenths of an inch instead.
Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says, “All of the main roads are clear and Public Works is now working in the residential neighborhoods clearing the current accumulation and pushing back any additional open parking spots. This activity will continue for the remainder of the day.”
Sunshine and cold temperatures with strong winds are expected for the rest of the day. The next forecast chance of snow is Friday night and Saturday with an additional one- to two-inches possible.
The city is asking residents to voluntarily follow the alternate side parking rules to help with efforts to clear parking lanes.
Finish the Job
Well now they can finish plowing the snow from multiple days ago. Doubt it though.
