street-sweeper

The City of Evanston will extend street cleaning for an extra week, through the first week of December, because of heavy storms that hit recently.

Although street signs indicate Saturday, Nov. 30, is the last day for sweeping, the city is asking residents to voluntarily comply with street cleaning schedules for the additional week.

Residents who notice sewer inlets or streets blocked by large piles of leaves are asked to call 311 by Sunday, Dec. 1 to schedule a street cleaning.

Some areas may be subject to special tow zone postings that are required for street cleaning where inlets are blocked. In the event there is a tow zone posting, cars must be relocated to appropriate areas of the street. If residents do not adhere to the posting they will be subject to fines and towing.

The deadline for yard waste pick-up is Thursday, Dec 5. More information about that is available online.
