Urban planner Robert Teska has produced a sequel to his more than decade-old book that recounted a half-century of change in downtown Evanston.

The new volume, Downtown Evanston Revitalized 2007-2018, takes the story through the development crash during the great recession and recaps the rebound of activity the city's core has seen in the past several years.

Teska, founder of the Evanston-based planning firm Teska Associates, recaps the redevelopment of Fountain Square, a project designed by his namesake firm, and also reviews 20 private development projects along with various other public improvements that have helped change the look of downtown over the past dozen years.

The new book and the original volume are both available for free download on the Teska website
