More al fresco dining spots on the way

On Custer Avenue just south of Main Street this evening folks from La Principal and Wine Goddess were in the midst of setting up for outdoor dining areas in the closed-off street.

It the first street closure in town designed to provide more space for restaurants struggling to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, at Wednesday afternoon's Design and Project Review Committee meeting city staff will be looking over a half dozen new sidewalk cafe requests and perusing two more for a second time.

The new requests are from Good to Go at 711 Howard St., Lao Sze Chuan at 1633 Orrington Ave., The Stained Glass at 1735 Benson Ave., Shinsen at 1322 Chicago Ave., Sea Ranch at 51 Dempster St. and the Open Studio Project at 901-903 Sherman Ave.

The plans getting a second look are from Farmhouse at 703 Church St. and Bat 17 at 1709 Benson Ave.
