Students planning to attend Oakton Community College this fall can apply for an Oakton Educational Foundation scholarship. Scholarships are available to all students meeting the minimum standards of academic persistence with a 2.0 GPA or better.

One application allows students to be considered for more than 300 individual scholarship opportunities. The application deadline for early consideration is Sunday, March 31. All current and incoming students should apply online.

More than $866,900 was allocated for student scholarships in 2018-2019, benefiting more than 400 Oakton students.

“The thoughtful support of donors makes all the difference for Oakton students who seek to improve their skills and knowledge by attending the college,” Chief Advancement Office Katherine Sawyer says.

To apply for a scholarship, students must first have an admission application on file. Admission instructions are listed online.

When applying for scholarships, students are required to complete a short application that includes why they want to attend Oakton, how the scholarship will assist them in meeting their educational goals, involvement in extracurricular activities related to school or work, and notable achievements and accomplishments.

The scholarship application remains open through the fall for awards throughout the 2019-2020 academic year.

The first wave of scholarship announcements are expected to be made in July.
