The National Weather Service says it’s not very likely that Evanston, and its holiday tree in Fountain Square, will have a coating of white for Christmas Day.

We might have a little slush though.

The weather service says there’s no chance of precipitation today, Christmas Eve.

But then there’s a slight chance we’ll get a rain and snow mix before 11 a.m. Christmas Day which could be followed by more rain until 2 p.m.

With Christmas Day temperatures expected to reach a high of 41 degrees, even if some snow does fall, it’s not likely to stick around long.
