Work is scheduled to start this week to extend the Church Street bike path further west, across the Evanston Township High School campus.

City officials say the work, which is expected to take about ten days, will start Wednesday and will extend the path from its current terminus at Dodge Avenue three blocks west to Grey Avenue.

The project includes the construction of a concrete two way multi-use path in the south parkway and ETHS property.

A future project is planned to extend the path further west to McCormick Boulevard and the North Shore Channel Trail.

Construction zone daytime no parking signs will be posted on the south side of Church. The work is being down by A. Lamp Concrete Contractors, Inc. of Schaumburg.
