Here’s a list of places you could go and perhaps feel like you’d never left home!

As part of a Northwestern University IT Research Computing Services contest, student Matt Payton put together an analysis of census data to find cities that were most like Evanston when you consider education level, race, poverty levels and median income.

The contest called for entries that made use of the city’s Open Data Portal, and the winning entry mapped usage of the Divvy bike system in Evanston.

    If someone had the time, it would be interesting to know how these towns are confronting their challenges and opportunities. For example, affordable housing, economic development, academic achievement in public schools, fiscal/tax policies etc.
