The Evanston Health Department reported no new COVID-19 cases among city residents for a second day in a row today leaving the case count steady at 728. But there was one additional death, raising the toll from the pandemic to 49.

Chicago reported 274 new cases for a total of 47,251 and 35 more deaths for a total of 2,218.

Statewide there were 929 new cases for a total of 124,759 and 115 more deaths for a total of 5,736.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 192 new COVID-19 tests of Evanston residents today with no positive test results.

Statewide results of tests on 22,841 people were reported with a 4.1% positive test rate. That brings the average positive rate for the past seven days to 5.9%
