It appears Evanston has won the race to be the spot with the biggest early voting turnout in suburban Cook County.

As of 10 a.m. this morning, 4,652 people had cast ballots at the Evanston Civic Center. That’s more than 500 votes ahead of the next most popular voting site — the Orland Township Hall.

Early voting in Evanston is scheduled to continue until 7 p.m. tonight at the Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.

Regular polling places will be open for Tuesday’s election from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can check the location of your polling place and see a sample election ballot on the County Clerk’s website.

Evanston voters will be electing a new mayor, and choose a city clerk, aldermen and school board members as well as voting on a school tax hike referendum.
