Evanston GOP announces primary endorsements

The Evanston Township Republican Organization has announced its endorsements in the March 20 primary.

“We’re proud to support such an outstanding slate of Republican candidates who will push hard for conservative principles on behalf of Illinoisans,” said Evanston Township GOP Committeeman Blair Garber.

“Illinoisans agree that Mike Madigan’s reign of terror must come to an end," Garber said. "We need candidates who will stand up to the Madigan Machine and politics as usual. These men and women will be effective and tough citizen legislators. It’s high time we had some leaders with a backbone in Springfield.”

The local GOP group has endorsed Bruce Rauner and Evelyn Sanguinetti, the incumbent governor and lieutenant governor for re-election.

It has also endorsed:

  • Erika Harold, an Urbana attorney and Harvard Law graduate for attorney general;
  • Sargis Sangari, a retired army lieutenant colonel who heads the Near East Center for Strategic Engagement, for the 9th Congressional District seat held by Democrat Jan Schakowsky;
  • Peter Lee, a businessman and former vice-president of the Korean American Association for the 17th District State House seat being vacated by Democrat Laura Fine, and
  • Julie Cho, a Chicago Booth graduate and operations consultant, for the 18th District State House seat held by Democrat Robyn Gabel.

Diversity and lower taxes. Who can ask for anything more

Look at that. Out of that list of six Republican candidates there are three women, two Asians and a military man born in Iran. Looks like the Republicans believe in diversity. And they want to lower our taxes!! Diversity and lower taxes. Who can ask for anything more.

If a Democrat wins you'll end up giving it all back and then some. Your choice.

GOP Endorsements

Well, it can't be worse than the tax and spend Democratic field (and BTW I'm not a Republican or Democrat). I've decided I won't vote for a billionaire or anyone who voted to raise my taxes (that leaves out Rauner, Pritzger, Biss, Preckwinkle etc.). Sparse"choices" to be sure. Anyone with these credentials: lower taxes, spend less, civil liberties....who has a slight chance of winning. Note to Democrats: nominating the same type of people you have in the past results in a Clinton debacle. But why learn? Note to Republicans: try effective leadership and try NOT running endless political commercials.

For change you can believe in, vote Republican

Are you aware that the billionaire Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner VETOED the Democrat's income tax hike last year? The donkeys have a clear majority and overrode Rauner's veto. The Democrats also refuse to negotiate with Rauner for term limits and property tax relief.

If you want lowered taxes, term limits, school vouchers and property tax relief in Illinois you had best vote Republican up and down the ballot. Or, it will be more of the same.

A Little Knowledge

You must have failed history class. The Republicans used to own Evanston dating back to its founding. Many of the city's streets, schools and parks are named for Republicans.

It only has become a Democratic/Progressive/Leftist stronghold in the past thirty plus years.

GOP Platform >> Fire Bobkiewicz

The Evanston Republicans should slate a group of candidates for mayor, clerk and aldermen with a single issue platform of firing the supremely incompetent Wally Bobkiewicz. They will win in a landslide.
