Officers from Evanston, Lincolnwood and Morton Grove were on the scene to assist Skokie officers in dealing with a situation in which a man had barricaded himself in a building after allegedly punching his mother in the face.
The man and another man, identified as his brother, eventually turned themselves over to police about 8:30 p.m. after professional negotiators were brought to the scene.
The Chicago Tribune says police plan to charge the man who threw the punches with two counts of domestic battery.

What a complete waste of taxpayers money, law enforcements valuable time, and disturbance of rush hour traffic. These two knew the police were there as they continually called other family members on their cell phones who were standing out front. They (the family members outside) were laughing each time they got a call from the two “holed up”. One other brother outside commented “They’re in there playing X-Box!” What a circus! I was there the whole time and witnessed the entire show. What a disgrace.
