Break-in at restaurant on Main

Burglars smashed a window to enter a restaurant in the 700 block of Main Street and stole a tablet computer and a cash register. This among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

700 Main

A window was broken overnight at a restaurant in the 700 block of Main Street. Among items missing was a tablet computer and a cash register.

Battery

1454 Elmwood

Ronald E. Ruffin, 55, of 4619 Davis St., Skokie, was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 9:30 a.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on March 28 at 9:30 a.m.

2650 Ridge

Yanxing Zhang, 30, was arrested at 2650 Ridge Ave. at 1:31 p.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on March 21 at 9:30 a.m.

Criminal Damage

400 Main

Someone damaged a windshield wiper on a 2011 Chevrolet in a municipal parking lot in the 400 block of Main Street between 5:43 p.m. Saturday and 5:43 p.m. yesterday.

800 Davis

Ventilation fans were damaged in the parking lot in the 800 block of Davis Street shortly after midnight today.

Criminal Trespass

519 Main

Pablo R. Otavalo, 35, of 860 Hinman Ave., was arrested at 519 Main St. at 6:34 a.m. today and charged with criminal trespass of real property. He is due in court on April 4 at 9 a.m.

Theft

600 Chicago

Someone stole merchandise from a store in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue between 9:20 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
